Implements router hardware boards, firmware, and device drivers, performing board bring-up and validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, debug, and optimize embedded firmware for network devices
- Implement device drivers, bootloaders, and low-level system software for custom hardware
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate and validate firmware with board-level components
- Conduct unit, integration, and system-level testing of firmware modules
- Analyze and resolve issues related to performance, stability, and interoperability
- Support manufacturing, QA, and field teams with firmware-related troubleshooting
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with embedded systems
- Experience with firmware development for routers, switches, or network equipment
Nice to Have
- Experience with router/switch hardware design at networking equipment companies
- Understanding of Layer 2 networking protocols
- Familiarity with modular chassis architectures and hot-swap controller firmware development
