Key Responsibilities
- Execute OSPF and IS-IS protocol testing — neighbor/adjacency validation, LSA/LSP flooding, SPF calculation, and DR/BDR or DIS election
- Test protocol timers, route summarization/redistribution, authentication, and convergence after link or node failure
- Write automated test scripts (Python, pytest, Robot Framework) for IGP protocol validation and RFC conformance
- Build packet validation scripts with Scapy and test topologies with Containerlab/GNS3/EVE-NG
- Execute interoperability and negative testing, and debug failures with Wireshark and protocol log analysis
Requirements
- 0-3 years of software testing experience (fresh graduates with strong networking skills welcome)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals and routing concepts
- Hands-on experience with network devices or network simulators (coursework or personal projects)
- Basic knowledge of OSPF or IS-IS routing protocols
Nice to Have
- Academic projects or internships involving network protocol testing or automation
- Familiarity with CCNA/CCNP-level routing concepts
- Experience with traffic generation tools (TRex, iperf3, hping3)
- Understanding of BFD for fast failure detection
