Tests and validates MPLS, traffic engineering, and VPN protocols, under the Technical Leader's guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute MPLS label-switching testing — label operations, LFIB validation, and FEC-to-label binding
- Execute LDP and RSVP-TE testing, including fast reroute, and test L3VPN (VRF/RD/RT) and L2VPN (VPLS, VPWS, EVPN) behavior
- Write automated test scripts (Python, pytest, Robot Framework) for MPLS/VPN protocol validation and RFC conformance
- Build packet validation scripts with Scapy and test topologies with Containerlab/GNS3/EVE-NG
- Execute interoperability and scale testing, and debug failures with Wireshark and MPLS troubleshooting tools (LSP ping/traceroute)
Requirements
- 0-3 years of software testing experience (fresh graduates with strong networking skills welcome)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals and routing concepts
- Hands-on experience with network devices or network simulators (coursework or personal projects)
- Basic knowledge of MPLS concepts or routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
Nice to Have
- Academic projects or internships involving MPLS or VPN testing
- Familiarity with CCNP Service Provider or CCIE-level MPLS concepts
- Understanding of Segment Routing over MPLS (SR-MPLS) and SRv6
- Knowledge of EVPN-VXLAN architecture for data center fabrics
