MRO‑TEK's Virtual Firewall Framework is a reusable, high-performance security solution built on DPDK and optimised for Intel x86 platforms. It runs as a virtual CPE, firewall, or IDS/IPS across virtualised, bare-metal, and cloud environments — for operators and enterprises who need firewall capacity without deploying a physical appliance at every site.
Deploying a physical firewall appliance at every site or virtual machine does not scale for operators and cloud-first enterprises. Traditional appliance-based firewalls also cap throughput at the hardware's fixed capacity, with no way to scale performance without a forklift upgrade.
The Virtual Firewall Framework runs as software on standard Intel x86 hardware, using DPDK, receive-side scaling, hyper-threading, and SIMD instructions to deliver up to 2x the performance of traditional appliance-based firewalls. It deploys as a virtual CPE, firewall, or IDS/IPS across VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix Xen, Oracle VirtualBox, and KVM — with next-gen threat detection (DoS/DDoS, trojans, botnets, flood attacks, web/SQL injection) and deep packet inspection built in.
The Virtual Firewall Framework is pure software — no proprietary appliance to rack. It runs as a virtual machine on standard x86 servers and network fabric already in your data center or cloud.

Deploys as a VM on off-the-shelf Intel x86 hardware — no dedicated firewall appliance to procure, rack, or replace at end of life.

Sits in-line with the switching and cabling you already operate — scale firewall capacity in software instead of forklifting hardware.

Deploys across VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix Xen, Oracle VirtualBox, and KVM — the same virtual firewall image runs on-prem or in the cloud.
