Software-Defined WAN

Zero-touch branch SD-WAN with dynamic path selection and integrated security

Make in India

Software-defined WAN appliances that replace fragile MPLS-only branch connectivity with application-aware, multi-link routing. MRO‑TEK's FALCON-SR series delivers zero-touch provisioning, integrated firewall and IPSec VPN, and dynamic path selection across MPLS, broadband, and LTE — scaling from single branch offices to hub-and-spoke deployments with hundreds of sites.

Branch offices depend on WAN links with unpredictable performance, but rolling out new sites or adding backup connectivity traditionally means truck-rolls and manual configuration. IT teams need centralised visibility and policy control without a field engineer at every site.

Deployment Process

MRO‑TEK's FALCON-SR appliances ship pre-configured for zero-touch provisioning — a branch device powers on, checks in with the cloud orchestrator, and pulls its full configuration automatically. Application-aware path selection continuously scores MPLS, internet, and LTE links on latency, jitter, and packet loss, failing over in real time, while an integrated firewall and IPSec VPN remove the need for separate branch security appliances.

WAN Assessment
Map existing branch links, bandwidth, and failover requirements
Policy Design
Define application-aware routing and QoS policies in the cloud orchestrator
Zero-Touch Rollout
Ship pre-staged appliances to branches — no on-site configuration required

Case Study
Power Distribution & Sub-Station SCADA Network Operator

The client needed 24×7 reliable WAN connectivity between its SCADA control room and remote power distribution and sub-station sites, for continuous transmission of critical RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) data. Requirements included redundant WAN connectivity across MPLS, ILL, and SIM/LTE links with automatic traffic switching on WAN-link failure — a conventional single-WAN architecture would have created a single point of failure for the SCADA network.

The SD-WAN POC successfully demonstrated resilient multi-WAN connectivity for the SCADA environment: traffic automatically shifted from MPLS to ILL and then to SIM/LTE on successive link failures, and reverted to the higher-priority path once restored. The FALCON-SR-180 devices operated on the production network for two months, validating continuous, resilient WAN connectivity for critical remote-site SCADA communication.
